OYO Fitness founder Paul Francis invented the first resistive exercise device for space, the NASA iRED, incorporating his patented SpiraFlex technology. Before launch, NASA funded a 16 week study comparing SpiraFlex to free-weights. OYO NOVA Gym or OYO Personal Gym?
The OYO NOVA Gym with 40lbs (18kg) of max resistance is for heavy duty upper body muscle building. It comes with a door attachment that can be used to anchor the OYO NOVA Gym to a door or the floor (using your feet).
The OYO Personal Gym with 25lbs (11kg) of max resistance and two leg attachments is geared towards whole body toning. The max resistance is lower than the OYO NOVA Gym but it comes with two leg attachments that can be fixed to your ankles for a variety of leg exercises that the OYO NOVA Gym does not do.
About the FlexPacks
Frequently Asked Question - The FlexPack has wax coating, is it new?
Yes, it's new and not defective. The FlexPack is coated with a wax lubricant to lubricate and protect the special rubber compound used to manufacture the SpiraFlex FlexPack. It actually took two years for OYO Fitness to research and develop the special rubber compound and wax lubricant for the SpiraFlex. Some users have asked if the FlexPack is new or if it is dirty because of this wax coating. Not to worry, it's new and the wax helps optimize the performance of the FlexPack, (similar to lubricant on a gym equipment moving part).
